December, 2021

Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to one and all.

Hopefully all of you have avoided getting Covid and have received your vaccinations. We got our first two shots in February and March and our booster in September. So far, knock on wood, we've stayed healthy.

There isn't a lot new in our neck of the woods. A couple of bouts of skin cancer this spring and summer kept Dick out of the pool, but the recent acquisition of a used electric bike has gotten him back into his bicycling routine, and with it, a renewed interest in swimming.

I still spend much of my time making cards, reading or spending time on the computer, and we both still do water fitness 3 times a week, weather permitting.

Scott any Amy haven't had any major changes this year. Their horse farm is still doing well and Scott is still programming for Travelers. Kayleigh finished college a year ago, a semester early, and is living at home for the time being, working on the farm and trying to complete her novel.

Teddy and Sarah are doing well. He's still working on the research for his dissertation and is hoping to complete everything by the end of next summer. They and their two kitties live on Long Island, not far from Stony Brook where Teddy is working on his research. Sarah has started an Etsy business creating counted cross stitch patterns.

Next up is Tim and his family. Tim continues to work as a Hospice nurse in the Spokane area and the boys spend the school year with him and their summers in California with their mother Cristy and her fiancée. Both Cristy and Tim's former fiancée Reginnah gave birth to baby girls about three weeks apart. Alden famously said, "I have two half sisters – does that make one whole sister?" Both babies are adorable as you can see in the picture.

Alden (16) and Ethan (14) are back in school, no longer having to do virtual learning. Alden is working toward getting his driver's license, and Ethan, who had a rough time with "at home" school, has brought his grades back up and is doing well in school.

Tim's baby, Ember, was born on January 1st, and continues to have limited access to her father and brothers. Tim has been working through the court process to expand his parenting time. Reginnah is not making it easy for him, but Tim is persevering.

Michael and Jennifer's business, Noteworthy Chocolates, is continuing to do well, despite the pandemic. They were able to get an infusion of capital from investors this year so they have expanded their capabilities and actually take a salary!

Ayden (18) graduated from high school in June and is taking a gap year – living at home, working part-time at Noteworthy and taking an online course in data analytics. His sister Alea (13) loves life, spending time with her friends and playing with Blue, the family's Goldendoodle puppy which they acquired last January. Blue is just a super-soft, fluffy ball of energy and love. She brings a lot of joy to the whole family.

Warm wishes for a very merry holiday season and a healthy, happy 2022!
